12 Days Tanzania Photography Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Spend the day capturing the park’s diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to photograph elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park
Enjoy a full day of photography in Tarangire, capturing the unique beauty of the park’s arid landscape, dramatic tree line, and wildlife. Your guide will help you find the best spots for wildlife photography during the golden hours of the day—early morning and late afternoon.

Day 4: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Depart for Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous safari destinations in the world. Your route takes you through scenic rural landscapes, and as you enter Serengeti, prepare for a vast expanse of grasslands teeming with wildlife. Start your photographic journey immediately upon arrival.

Day 5-6: Serengeti National Park
Spend two full days in the Serengeti, focusing on capturing the park’s incredible wildlife, from predators like lions and leopards to the massive herds of wildebeests and zebras. Depending on the time of year, you may also capture the Great Migration in action. The endless savannah and dramatic skies provide the perfect backdrop for wildlife photography.

Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Leave Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater for a unique photographic experience. The lush environment of the crater floor, home to a rich variety of wildlife including rhinos, buffalo, and lions, offers excellent opportunities for close-up shots.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater
Spend another day in the Ngorongoro Crater to explore and photograph its diverse wildlife in the early morning light and golden hours. Capture breathtaking panoramic views, as well as wildlife in its natural habitat, all surrounded by the crater’s lush landscape.

Day 9: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and abundant birdlife. Explore the park’s diverse ecosystems, including its lush forests, grassy plains, and the alkaline lake. The flamingo-filled lake and panoramic views are perfect for landscape photography.

Day 10: Lake Manyara to Tarangire National Park
Return to Tarangire National Park for a final day of photography. Capture the park from different angles and light conditions, and focus on any wildlife or landscapes you may have missed during your first visit.

Day 11: Tarangire to Arusha
Return to Arusha for a relaxing day. You can visit local markets or enjoy an optional cultural activity like a Maasai village tour to capture traditional life in Tanzania. Your guide will ensure you have the final opportunity to snap some local portraits or landscapes before your departure.

Day 12: Departure
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home, with a camera full of incredible images and memories to last a lifetime.
